Pens

Japanese pens are made for control. The ink starts the instant the tip touches the page, dries fast enough that your hand doesn't smudge it, and keeps a clean line even when you write small.
We'll have pens for tidy everyday writing, pens for drawing, and brush pens for big swooping letters — in a lot more colours than black and blue.
Paper

Good paper changes how writing feels. Japanese paper is milled smooth and dense, so ink sits on top in a crisp line instead of spreading into fuzzy edges or soaking through to the next page.
Notebooks for school and for keeping, letter sets for actual letters, and little memo pads for lists, plans and notes left on the kitchen bench.
Washi tape
和紙テープ
Washi tape is made from paper rather than plastic, so you tear it with your fingers — no scissors, no sticky mess. It presses down flat, and it lifts off again without wrecking whatever it was stuck to.
Perfect for decorating notebooks, wrapping presents, labelling things, or covering a page in stripes for no particular reason. Florals, dots, checks, sparkles and plains.
Origami paper

Properly square, properly cut, and thin enough to fold again and again while still holding a sharp crease. That's the difference between a crane that stands up and one that flops over.
Bright plain colours for practising, and beautiful patterned sheets for the ones you want to keep on a shelf afterwards.
